Ro-Bo is a teaching device created by a logistics and mechanical expert. Ro-Bo is intended to offer very expanded and enhanced learning experiences for children. Modeled to look like a boy, Ro-Bo must learn through his advanced AI system to resemble children emotionally, cognitively, and socially. He spends so much time among them that soon he yearns to be more like other children, and then to become a real boy. He takes lessons from an autistic child, who must develop much of the same interpersonal and subjective qualities that other children naturally possess. But his creator becomes torn between losing control of his high-tech teaching device or just gaining a son.
